OUR FAQS
WHY PATH-MAKER OVER OTHER COMMERCIAL BRUSH CUTTERS?
Other brush cutters on the market are heavy, bulky, and expensive. As if that wasn't enough, they use a rotary cutting system that leaves 2 inches uncut on average, meaning you have tripping hazards even after you're done using them. Path-Maker's brush cutters are lightweight, affordable, and half the cost of the leading competitor.
WON'T THE CHAIN GET DULL IMMEDIATELY?
One of the biggest mistakes people make in regard to our product is erroneously comparing it with a chainsaw. While they both share a similar sawing chain that traverses a guide bar, that's pretty much where the similarities end. On average, our chains need to be sharpened every 5 hours of use. This is slightly less often than a chainsaw under normal usage. Because of the fixed orientation, angle, speed, and point of entry, our chains get into the dirt and keep on cutting. There are still obvious exceptions like rocks, which will dull chains considerably quicker.
CAN I CUT OUT BAMBOO WITH MY COMMERCIAL PATH-MAKER BRUSH CUTTER?
Absolutely! Bamboo is one of the biggest inspirations for our brush cutting units! Its height made it unable to be cut by traditional walk behind brush cutters, and even if you could cut it, you'd be left tripping on the chute stubs that it leaves behind. With our cutters, you can cut bamboo down at ground level with ease, and bamboo removed with our units has less than a 5% regrowth rate! Meaning it is a permanent solution to invasive bamboo!
WHAT IS THE SIZE LIMIT THAT I CAN CUT WITH MY COMMERCIAL PATH-MAKER BRUSH CUTTER?
While the unit has no restricting height factors, it's important to be safe about what you're cutting. Just because a unit CAN physically cut something doesn't mean you should try. Always follow safety guidelines! Cutting brush or trees larger than 4.25 inches in diameter should never be attempted. Always be aware of your surroundings and any overhead falling risks such as branches or debris, powerlines, as well as any tripping risks such as holes or uneven terrain.
WHAT NEW FEATURES DOES THE GEN 8 HAVE THAT MAKE IT WORTH BUYING?
The Gen 8 is our newest and most advanced unit to date. We fixed a few minor issues that were present in our previous units, as well as increased oil tank size, reinforced it with a steel cover, and added the pull cord to the handle to eliminate unnecessary bending. It also features our strongest engine ever.
MY OIL TUBE KEEPS COMING OFF MY BAR. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT?
Most customers will not have this problem occurring, but for our customers pushing through incredibly dense vegetation, things like vines or branches may tug at the tube until it falls off. If this is a problem you notice, we offer a hose clamp to place at the base of the oil bolt to add a substantial increase to the hold on the bolt.
WHERE CAN I GET ADDITIONAL CHAINS?
We sell replacement chains on our website, but for those who need them right away, they can be purchased at hardware stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot. NOT ALL CHAINS FIT! Because our design is so precise, not all 72 drive link chains will fit. The only chain that will fit off the shelf is an Oregon brand M series chain with 72 drive links of .050 thickness and .325 pitch. If it's not M series, it will not fit the bar. This link shows the proper chain on Oregon's Website.
